From the 28th until the 31st of July 2016, the prestigious FEI World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses is organized at the National Equestrian Centre in Ermelo. Andreas Helgstrand, medal winner in 2009, 2010, 2013 & 2015: “Dutch competitions are always very well organised, so I have high anticipations for this first World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo. It’s a delight to ride at such a championship. More and more winners of the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses affirm their qualities at a later age in the Grand Prix. Previously, you saw a lot of big movers at the World Championships, but thanks to the presence of Grand Prix judges, horses are now also assessed on their ability to collect. During the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses you get a better picture of what is happening in breeding across borders, you see the young top horses from every country. Last year I had six of the five-year-old’s finalists on my yard. The World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses is like a window looking out over the horses in your stables.”
