What an exciting qualification for six-year-old horses powered by Anemone Horsetrucks! Three horses obtain a 9+ score. The DWB stallion Hesselhøj Down Town (Hesselhøj Donkey Boy x Blue Hors Zack) of Helgstrand Dressage that is bred by Dorthe and Hans Jørgen Hoeck came out on top. The Swedish rider Jeanna Hogberg guided the stallion to 9.48 points.

The KWPN stallion Las Vegas (Ferdeaux x Wynton) , bred by J. Deenen, placed second. Presented by Emmelie Scholtens, the stallion that is owned by Nico Witte and Nol Gerritsen, earned 9.42 in total. Henrik Hansen bred today’s third prize winner, the Oldenburg stallion Global Player OLD (Grand Galaxy Win T x Blue Hors Don Schufro) of Stallion station Helgstrand/Schockemöhle. Germany’s Eva Möller saw her ride being rewarded with 9.4 points.

High quality
42 six-year-old dressage talents entered arena 2 in Ermelo today. Eddy de Wolff van Westerrode was in awe of the quality of the group: “The level was high today and the first three combinations are so close in scores. We could already award one ten today and there were so many combinations that were so close to that mark. The top-three was presented in a wonderful manner by three strong riders. The competition is definitely wide open. Anything can happen in the final!” says Van Westerrode.

Total package
Jeanna Hogberg is pleased with her powerhouse Hesselhøj Down Town. “He is fantastic. He grows ten centimetres once he enters the ring and then he just keeps going.” Hesselhøj Down Town was awarded a 9.6 for the walk, a 9.5 for the trot and a 9.2 for the canter. “He certainly has a great walk”, responds Hogberg. “But all his gaits are good. He has no shortcomings. He has everything you can wish for. That’s special because there are few horses out that that possess three gaits of his quality. Plus, he is so sweet”, she adds with a smile. “He means a lot to me, and I am so happy I get to ride him.”
