KWPN stallion Kjento (Negro x Jazz), bred by A.J. van Os, is off to a strong start at the LONGINES FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Dressage Championship for Young Horses. Fresh off the heels of her double win in Herning, Charlotte Fry is aiming to defend the WCYH-gold that Kjento obtained in Verden last year.

The stunning black stallion of Van Olst Horses seems fit and focused, and it is not unimaginable he is to repeat his feat of last year. Kjento’s rider Lottie Fry emphasizes it is not a done deal yet although she believes Kjento has plenty more in store. “He felt fantastic”, she says. “It is obviously a big step up from the six- to the seven-year-old levels. The test is more difficult, but he felt really good and secure out there. He loves the crowds and big arenas. I think it was a nice test. I am looking forward to the final and I think he is too,” quips Fry. “I think we may even add more power in the test on Sunday.” The combination scored 84,415% in the qualification presented by Helgstrand Dressage.

Rheinlander Escamillo
The impressive Rheinlander Escamillo (Escolar x Rohdiamant) placed second, scoring 82,965% under Manuel Dominguez Bernal of Spain. Kimberley Davis-Slous is the owner of this by Gestüt Tenterhof bred stallion. Coming in third, were the pair Beatrice Hoffrogge and Destello OLD (Dimaggio x Fürst Fugger) of Sophie Fabri. The Oldenburg stallion, bred by Stefanie Löhman obtained a total score of 80.015%.
