Frederic Wandres & Zucchero

Revolution, last year’s world champion, wowed the crowd once again. The Westphalian stallion could count on the enthusiastic support of the audience and the jury, although they placed the Zonik-offspring Zucchero on top. Zucchero (OLD, -ds. Prince Thatch xx, bred by Hans-Heinrich Brünig) who was in reach of a podium last year, took home the gold at the Bundeschampionat for 5-year-old dressage horses. Presented by Frederic Wandres, the via PSI-auction sold bay, was awarded three 9.5s for his great gaits. A 9 for submission and a 9.8 for perspective totaled up to 9.46. The walk of Revolution (bred by Yesemin Yanik) received a 9 and put him in the second place. His trot was valued at 9.8, the rest of his report equals that of Zucchero. Bringing the total of Andreas Helgstrand to 9.42.

Andreas Helgstrand & Revolution

In third place, we see another formerly auction item of PSI: Zum Glück. Ridden by Robin van Lierop, the by Ullrich Kasselman bred Zonik-son won the bronze medal at the Bundeschampionat last year. The powerful stallion (ds.Florestan I) received a 9.5 for the walk and perspective from the jury, a 9 for the trot and canter and an 8.8 for submission. This means the Grand Prix-stallin Zonik, has two of his sons in the top 3 of the rankings. Mathias Alexander Rath obtained a fourth place with last year’s silver medal winner Destecado FRH (s.Desperado).

Robin Van Lierop & Zum Gluck RS2

“We started with a superb performance of Robin van Lierop and Zum Gluck RS2 OLD and ended with a superb performance of Andreas Helgstrand and Revolution. In between, we had many lovely horses. The overall standard was very high! We gave today’s winner Zucchero OLD a 9.8 for perspective. We also awarded one 10. To the walk of Matthias Alexander Rath’s Destacado FRH. The walk was so relaxed and active. The horse moved through his whole body. We thought it could not be better. The final will be a close call, may the best horse win!” concludes president of the jury Annette Fransen-Iacobaeus.
