The Longines FEI/WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships have come to an end. We have honoured fantastic world champions in the five-, six- and seven-year-old age divisions. Next to that, we got to enjoy the four-year-old talents and their older colleagues in the Grand Prix.

During the concluding press conference, Andries van Daalen, chairman of the KWPN and member of the WC for Young Dressage Horses Foundation, looked back on four beautiful days. “Glamourdale and Hermès, who have recently seized the gold and bronze medal at the WC of Herning with Charlotte Fry and Dinja van Liere, evidence that this world championship for young horses is an incubator for future medalists. What a wonderful time we had last night when we welcomed back these super stars for a special award ceremony.”

Clash of the studbooks
The WC is a unique clash of the studbooks. No less than 26 studbooks were represented here in Ermelo, main suppliers being KWPN and Oldenburg. In total, we have seen 175 horses set foot in our arenas, 125 of which were in the race for the world titles as they represented 26 countries. During these four days we have welcomed around 21.000 visitors, that could not only indulge in beautiful dressage, but also in the wide range of products our 60 exhibition booths in the vendor village had to offer. We could count on the support of 350 staff members and approximately 60 accredited press professionals that reported on this WC.

Festivity
Andries: “Organising an event such as the FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Dressage Championship for Young Horses would not be possible without our sponsors. We are extremely grateful for their contribution to this dressage festivity. Of course, we would also like to thank all our staff and volunteers for their boundless dedication to ensure its success. Hopefully, we may again rely on their efforts in the future.”

See you next year!
Mark your calendar because this wonderful event returns in 2023. From the 3rd until the 6th of August Ermelo is the epicenter of the best modern dressage breeding has to offer. We hope to welcome you all at the Longines FEI/WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship next year. See you in Ermelo!
