The Longines FEI/WBFSH World Championship for Young Dressage Horses celebrates its 25th anniversary this year from September 4 to 8. This international event takes place for the seventh time at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo. For five days, you’ll enjoy the best five-, six-, and seven-year-old dressage talents from around the world. The next Glamourdale or Hermès? You might just discover them in Ermelo, says Chairman Hidde Frankena.

Discover future dressage stars
“KWPN stallions like Glamourdale and Hermès are the showpieces of the World Championship. Glamourdale was twice world champion with Charlotte Fry, and Hermès took bronze with Dinja van Liere. These young horses have developed to the highest level. At the Olympic Games, they were the highlights of the British and Dutch teams, with Glamourdale winning team and individual bronze. In four years, in Los Angeles, we may see new stars discovered at the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses…”

Experience the mecca for dressage lovers
“This World Championship is the place to follow the development of young dressage horses. You’ll see the stars of the future in action under international top riders. In addition to the championship classes for five-, six-, and seven-year-old horses, there’s also a competition for four-year-old talents and a three-star Grand Prix. Top names who already shined at the Olympic Games this year will come to Ermelo, such as Nanna Skodborg Merrald, Emmelie Scholtens, Dinja van Liere, Charlotte Fry, and Hans Peter Minderhoud.”

Enjoy five days of top dressage sport
“Due to the Olympic Games and summer activities at the KNHS center, the event takes place in September this year. This gives us the opportunity to offer you five days of top-notch dressage sport. The World Championship is not only renowned but also a friendly event. Enjoy fantastic sport, a great atmosphere, delicious food, and various stalls where you can network and socialize with other dressage enthusiasts,” says Frankena.

Collaboration
“Without the support of our partners, we wouldn’t be able to organize this prestigious event,” emphasizes the chairman. “The World Championship is the result of intensive collaboration with Longines, the Province of Gelderland, the Municipality of Ermelo, and Anemone Horse Trucks. We are also grateful for the dedication of many volunteers, staff, judges, and companies connected to the event.”
