Strong marks this afternoon for the winner of the small final of the seven-year-olds. Astoria (Sir Donnerhall x Quarterback). The bay mare of breeder Christina Olsson Hipponews KB moved 79.607% with Jeanne Hogberg. An impressive 9.2 for the expressive trot and a 9 for the canter, the walk received a 7.9. An 8 for harmony and an 8.9 for perspective secured the win. Mara de Vries steered the Don Schufro-son Habibi DVB (ds.Johnson TN) to the second prize so also this combination can come back in the final.  The gelding of Van Baalen Dressage received a 9.2 for his strong trot as well and had an overall score of 78.784%. The last ticket to the final was obtained by Vitalis-son First Step Valentin (ds.Fidermark) with 77.716%. The chestnut stallion, bred by Hubert Waning, scored a consistent 8.5 for walk, trot and perspective.
President of the jury Ulrike Nivelle: “We saw some very nice tests today. If you compare it to yesterday, you see that most horses were more settled today. Hence, they could show their talents. We think the best three horses are now added to the final and we look forward to judging it.”
